"Don't stop by the creek, son"
That's what my daddy said
"Don't stop by the creek, son"
That's what my daddy said
Didn't hear my daddy's voice
And I almost end up dead
"Take ol' Glannon Road
You don't have to go that way"
"Take ol' Glannon Road, son
You don't have to go that way"
Didn't hear my daddy's voice
And that's where I went astray
"Don't stop by the creek, son"
That's what my daddy said
"Don't stop by the creek, son"
That's what my daddy said
Didn't hear my daddy's voice
And I almost end up dead
"Go right straight to school, son
Don't be labeled as a fool"
"Go right straight to school, son
Don't be labeled as a fool"
But fall in the crowd
That meant one dip in the pool
"Don't stop by the creek, son"
That's what my daddy said
"Don't stop by the creek, son"
That's what my daddy said
Didn't hear my daddy's voice
And I almost end up dead
"Don't stop by the creek, son"
That's what my daddy said
"Don't stop by the creek, son"
That's what my daddy said
Didn't hear my daddy's voice
And I almost end up dead
